PRIVACY STATEMENT

The Gippsland Area Consultative Committee, hereafter referred to as "GACC" respects the privacy of every person who visits our website or responds to any interactive feature that may be contained within our website

This Privacy Statement outlines the information the GACC may collect and how we will use that information.

All privacy practices and methods described herein only apply insofar as permitted by the applicable standards, laws and requirements and as limited by the website or interactive feature you are visiting. In addition to the privacy commitments outlined below, the GACC takes every reasonable measure to comply with your country's privacy regulations.

Information Collected
The GACC has a stringent privacy policy regarding the personal and private information of individuals or organisations. No details of any kind other than those previously approved will be published or forwarded to any organisation without prior permission of the individual or organisation concerned.

No personal  information is automatically collected from visitors to this site via electronic means. E-mail addresses and other personally identifiable data about visitors to this website when submitted voluntarily will be known only to the GACC and will not be passed on, sold or distributed to any other person(s) or organisation(s).

Users should be aware that when they voluntarily disclose personal information (e.g. username, email address, phone numbers, etc) on such services as bulletin boards or in chat areas, that information can be collected and used by others and may result in unsolicited messages.

The GACC endeavours to ensure that the links on this website to other sites are suitable for general viewing. We cannot however control links from other sites. At the time of inclusion on this site, in our opinion the links contained within linked sites are suitable for general viewing. If you should access a link which leads to another site that contains materials which you consider not suitable for general viewing, please contact us immediately so that we can remove the offending link.

Aggregate Data & Cookies
The GACC may collect certain aggregate data called web log information (such as your web browser, operating system, pages visited, etc.) and may use cookies when you visit our web pages. For instance, when you visit one of our websites, our web server will automatically recognize some non-personal information, including but not limited to the date and time you visited our site, the pages you visited, the referrer (the website you came from), the type of browser you are using (e.g., Netscape, Internet Explorer), the type of operating system you are using (e.g., Windows '95 or Mac OS), and the domain name and address of your Internet service provider (e.g., AOL, Telstra Bigpond, etc).

Neither our cookies nor web log information collects any personal information. They do not contain personal information such as your name or email address. These information types would only be collected by requesting your participation in such activities as surveys or polls.

Voluntary Information Collection
The GACC does not require visitors to our website to provide personal information in order to obtain access to  our site. The GACC collects personal information (including but not limited to your name, address, telephone number, and email address) from our visitors only on a voluntary basis.

The GACC website may from time to time provide the facility for users to order publications, vote in polls, or otherwise express an opinion, subscribe to one of our services such as newsletters, or participate in one of our online forums or surveys. These programs may require you to submit some information in order to participate. These programs and the types of information required are described in more detail below.

Registration/Subscriptions
To fully use our website, visitors may need to register using online registration forms, where visitors will be required to provide us with their personal information. Visitors may also be asked to select a user ID and password for security purposes. Further, to register for certain services or become a member of certain groups, we may ask visitors to submit their name, email address, home address, and zip/postal code.
In addition, we may ask for country of residence and age so that we can comply with all applicable privacy regulations. You can always decide not to receive or stop receiving any email from the GACC that you do not want.

Questionnaires, Surveys and Profile Data
The GACC may occasionally ask visitors to complete surveys and opinion polls about their interests, needs, and attitudes. Surveys help us provide better services and enable us to make informed assessments on  related issues. Participation is completely voluntary and these surveys are optional.

Aggregate and Statistical Data Usage
The GACC uses web log information (such as your web browser, operating system, pages visited, etc.) to help us design our website, to identify popular features, and for other managerial purposes. However, web logs may be used if necessary to help identify any person attempting to break into or damage our website. We may share web log information with law enforcement agencies if we believe that we have evidence of a violation of computer security or related laws.

The GACC website may contain links to other websites. The GACC is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites. We recommend you carefully read the privacy policies of each site you visit.

By using the GACC website or any or any online facility provided via this website, you signify your acceptance of this Privacy Statement, and you adhere to the terms and conditions posted on the website. If you do not agree with any of these terms, please do not use this site or submit any personal information.
